About Escuela Salvador Corletto
Las Sandias, Santa Rosa de Copán, Honduras:
On February 6, 2026, Footprint Foundation, in partnership with Global Humanitarian Mission, celebrated the grand opening of Escuela Salvador Corletto, a newly built campus located in the heart of Las Sandias Village. This project was created to expand access to education while strengthening health, dignity, and opportunity for children and families in the community.
The campus includes newly constructed classrooms with finished walls, roofing, flooring, installed windows and doors, sidewalks, and access stairs connecting the street to the football field. Clean sanitary bathrooms supported by a septic tank system were also built to serve both students and members of the surrounding community. 150 underserved students will learn in a safe, structured environment designed for long term impact.
Beyond construction, Footprint Foundation provided school supplies for the campus and distributed individual backpacks filled with personal school materials to each child in Las Sandias. Through a dedicated partnership, every child received a brand new pair of shoes to symbolize the walk many once had to make in order to receive an education. Soccer balls were also provided to encourage play, connection, and joy within the village.
Escuela Salvador Corletto reflects a commitment that goes beyond building classrooms. It represents faith, partnership, and an investment in the next generation of Las Sandias.
